About HVAC/R

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration

The HVAC/R professions provide comfortable atmospheres and environments for individuals based on the air temperature, humidity, and air movement. The four aspects of HVAC/R work to ensure the temperature and comfort of the air in home is to your comfort.

Heating - The process of producing heat to warm an area for comfort.

Ventilation - The act of supplying or moving air to or from a building or area.

Air Conditioning - The use of refrigeration to keep an area cool.

Refrigeration - The process of moving heat (often where is not wanted) to somewhere else where it makes little difference in order to cool an area.
