Respondous Lockdown Student Guide

Using Respondous on Campus

If you need to use respondous lockdown and do not have access to a computer at home you can come to the WGTC libraries for assistance. We have computers on each campus that has the respondous lockdown Application already installed for student usage during our libraries' operational hours.

• When using computers in any of our campuses labs, conduct a search for "LockDown Browser" or look for LockDown Browser on the desktop or in the start menu of the computer. You should see an icon that looks something like this: . Double Click on the icon to open the application.
• Once launched, LockDown Browser will automatically open up to Blackboard. 
• Log into your Blackboard account and then scroll to the test you want to start.

If you attempt to take a test within blackboard when lockdown is required and you fail to open the lockdown browser application first, Blackboard will automatically ask you for an administrative password.

Exams that require Respondus LockDown Browser will be marked as “Requires Respondus LockDown Browser” 

Using Respondous off campus

• To use Respondous Lockdown off campus you first must make sure that the application is downloaded onto your computer. To download the application, follow the step by step directions in the side tab labeled how to download respondous within this guide.

• Look for the LockDown Browser on your desktop, start menu, or applications folder. You should see an icon that looks something like this:  or . Double Click on the icon to open the application. 

• Once you have open the application login to blackboard using your single sign-on and scrowl to the test that you need to take.
