Respondous LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within a learning management system such as Blackboard.
Respondus LockDown Monitor
Respondus LockDown Monitor is a separate tool included with your LockDown Browser that is used for added security in online testing. There is no cost for students to use either program; however, students will need a webcam for Respondus Monitor.
What does the LockDown Browser do?
Browser menu and toolbar options are removed, except for the following: Back, Forward, Refresh and Stop
Lockdown prevents students from accessing other applications while in the lockdown app
Going to another URL (web page) while lockdown is open
All Printing and screen capture functions are disabled
Copying and pasting anything into the test or assessment is prevented
The assessment cannot be exited until the test is completed or submitted for grading.
