Cybersecurity Lab Game from PBS
"NOVA has teamed up with cybersecurity experts to create the Cybersecurity Lab, a game in which players will discover how they can keep their digital lives safe and develop an understanding of cyber threats and defenses. Players will advance by using computer coding, logical reasoning, critical thinking, and vulnerability detection to solve various problems. These are the same skills employed regularly by cybersecurity professionals. However, players won’t need any prior cybersecurity or coding expertise to succeed.
In the game, players work for a start-up social network company that is the target of increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks. Working alongside their friend and colleague—a brilliant, business-savvy entrepreneur—their goal is to grow their tiny company into a global empire. To do this, players must complete challenges to strengthen their cyber defenses and thwart their attackers. There are four major gameplay components: a coding challenge, a password challenge, a social engineering challenge, and a series of cyber battles."

"From the smart electric power grid and electronic health records to atomic clocks, advanced nanomaterials, and computer chips, innumerable products and services rely in some way on technology, measurement, and standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Today, NIST measurements support the smallest of technologies to the largest and most complex of human-made creations—from nanoscale devices so tiny that tens of thousands can fit on the end of a single human hair up to earthquake-resistant skyscrapers and global communication networks." - From About NIST
NIST has impacted the Cybsersecurity industry by developing a Cybersecurity Framework. "More than ever, organizations must balance a rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape against the need to fulfill business requirements. To help these organizations manage their cybersecurity risk, NIST convened stakeholders to develop a Cybersecurity Framework that addresses threats and supports business. While the primary stakeholders of the Framework are U.S. private-sector owners and operators of critical infrastructure, its user base has grown to include communities and organizations across the globe." - Cybersecurity Framework

Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency | Department of Homeland Security
"CISA leads the nation’s risk management efforts by mobilizing a collective defense of our nation’s critical infrastructure. We do this by bringing together diverse stakeholders and giving them a seat at the table to collaboratively identify risks, prioritize them, develop solutions, and drive the wide adoption of those solutions to ensure the stability of our national critical functions. We are, in other words, the “front door” to the government on issues related to cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection." - Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, p. 2. | CISA. 2020. "The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers & Studies (NICCS) is the nation’s one-stop shop for cybersecurity careers and studies. It connects the public with information on cybersecurity awareness, degree programs, training, careers, and talent management. As of February 2020, the Training Catalog connects the public to over 6,000 courses every day.
Cybersecurity professionals are in high demand. Experts predicts there will be a global shortage of 1.8 million cybersecurity professionals by 2022 to fill those critical positions. With this cybersecurity talent shortage, educators are uniquely positioned to help students develop the technical skills to pursue careers in this industry." - From About NICCS

National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence
The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) works with experts from industry, government, and academia to address businesses’ most pressing cybersecurity problems with practical, standards-based solutions using commercially available technologies.
