The Glossary is divided into two parts:
The Language Table presents a list of library terms in six languages.
Definitions gives explanations in English for each of the terms.

Common Vocabulary For Libraries
Circulation Desk: Front desk in the library it is a place to go to checkout books, return books, ask questions, and get assistance.
Borrow / Checkout: to take home library materials for a short time
Call Number: an alpha-numeric number assigned to a book and printed on the spine, used to help locate the book
Online card Catalog: the tool that lists and allows you to search the entire collection of the library online
Due Date: the date you must return your library materials back to the Library
Reference: section in the library for encyclopedias, dictionaries, altases, etc
Database: fee-based online source authored by experts
Librarian: the professional who answers questions in the library
Computer Lab: Area that houses computers for student usuage
E-book: An electronic online version of a Book
Reserve Collection: a special area of the library where faculty can place high demand items to ensure those items are highly accessible to students. Contains studyguides and test prep materials
Fine / Fee: Amount of money owed when book is past the due date
Fiction: stories or novels
Author: the person who writes the text of the book
Non-Fiction: true stories, facts
