Pfizer vaccine

Pfizer-BioNTech (COMIRNATY) received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval on August 23, 2021, for individuals 16 years of age and older. 

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to permit the emergency use of the unapproved product, Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, for active immunization to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 12 years of age and older.

Number of Shots: 2 shots, 21 days apart

Booster Dose: A single Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine booster dose (0.3 mL) may be administered intramuscularly at least 6 months after completing the primary series to individuals: 

  • 65 years of age and older
  • 18 through 64 years of age at high risk of severe COVID-19
  • 18 through 64 years of age whose frequent institutional or occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2 that puts them at high risk of serious complications of COVID-19 including severe COVID-19

Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine

The FDA has authorized the emergency use of the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 18 years of age and older under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).

Number of Shots: 1 shot

 

Moderna Covid-19 Vaccine

The Moderna COVID‑19 Vaccine has not been approved or licensed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but has been authorized for emergency use by FDA, under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), to prevent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID‑19) for use in individuals 18 years of age and older.

Number of Shots: 2 shots, 28 days apart or 1 month
